The Lausitzer Rundschau newspaper asked its readers to submit various questions for the candidates and parties in the upcoming city parliament elections. We were also asked and would like to publish the first question and our answer here.
1. How is the SUB changing transport in Cottbus for the better?
Strengthening local public transport helps to make urban transport more sustainable. We are achieving this by expanding the route network and changing the timetable. Public transport must be accessible to people regardless of their disabilities. Better conditions for cycling are of great importance. Cycling is often a practical alternative to driving. In many places, there are well-developed cycle paths and safe public parking systems. We are building on this.
