Detailed presentation

My name is Nadeem Manjouneh, and I am running for the city parliament in Cottbus. As a person born in Aleppo, Syria, and becoming a new citizen in Germany, I have experienced the journey of integration first-hand. This experience has taught me that true integration means not only being physically present in a community, but also playing an active and valued role in it.

Since 2018, I have been working in the field of migration social work, where I witness the challenges and successes of migrants on a daily basis. My work has shown me that migration is not only a challenge, but also an enrichment for our society. I speak fluent German, English and Arabic and also have knowledge of Turkish, French and Japanese, which helps me to build bridges between different cultures.
As the chairman of an association that caters for students and is active in the subculture, I have seen how important it is to give a voice to all members of our community. I have experienced racism first hand, but I have not let that stop me from integrating and fulfilling my role as a citizen.

My main concern for the elections is to promote inclusive policies that include all residents of Cottbus. I want us to work together as a community to ensure that everyone – regardless of their background – has the opportunity to grow, learn and contribute. I stand for policies that speak with people, not about them, and that make decisions together, not in isolation.
I ask for your support to create a city where every individual feels valued and where diversity is seen as our greatest strength.
