Transparency and participation

Strengthening civic participation in the municipality is crucial as it has a variety of positive effects on the local community and democratic life. Overall, strengthening civic participation helps to promote a vibrant, inclusive and democratic society at the local level. It is important to create mechanisms for participation.

Change in the size of the parliamentary group

The regulation on the size of the parliamentary groups should do justice to Cottbus society. The size of the parliamentary group must be reduced to two.
 
Justification:
 
1. greater representation: With two votes per parliamentary group, smaller parties or list associations have a better chance of being represented in parliament. This allows for greater political diversity and a better representation of the different interests and opinions of the population.
 

2. balance of power: An increase in the size of the parliamentary group to two votes allows smaller parties to play a greater role in decision-making and exercise more effective control over the STVV. This strengthens the democratic balance and reduces the risk of excessive accumulation of power by large parties. (also the AFD)
