urgent housing shortage

At the beginning of July 2024, the Studentenwerk Frankfurt (Oder) announced that it would not be able to provide places in halls of residence for newly admitted students for the winter semester 2024/2025.
We therefore contacted various housing providers, the Welcome Centre of the City of Cottbus, the International Relations Office of the BTU and the Student Council and held initial talks to find a solution together.
In order to better assess the situation, a WhatsApp channel was set up for students looking for accommodation.
This has already attracted 60 people.
However, it can be assumed that the number of people affected is much higher, as not everyone is informed and reachable via this platform.
We hope that the relevant departments will be able to provide information and find accommodation quickly and in a targeted manner.
